Make Your Exterior Paint Jobs Last Longer
When you paint the exterior of a home or building, you want to make sure it looks fresh for years to come. Here are some simple tips for making your exterior paint jobs last longer.
Clean the surface
Get rid of any dirt or debris on the exterior by pressure washing the surface. Paint will stick directly to the surface and last longer.
Prevent cracking and peeling
Make sure you get rid of any previous coats of cracking or peeling paint. Be sure to caulk trim and any areas with cracks. Eliminating cracks ensures the paint will go on in a smooth coat.
Use high-quality paint
Since exterior projects will be exposed to harsh weather, it is crucial to use high-quality paint. These paints will initially cost a bit more, but they will last longer than cheaper alternatives.
Maintain your work
After you complete an amazing project, keep it fresh by doing routine maintenance. Touch up areas as needed. Recommend the client washes the siding or exterior yearly to avoid dirt and debris buildup.
