Painting Contractors Association

Chris Shank is the Education Director at the Painting Contractors Association. Chris has been at PCA for nearly 5 years and leads the Content Team to create education and connection for painting contractors throughout the year online and at LIVE training events. He is the host of the Paint ED podcast and the creator of PCA's Trade Best Practice Series. Chris comes to PCA with a background in education programming, instructional design, membership process, and community connection.

Ken serves as the chief marketing strategist for Changescape Web, which he founded in 2005. Changescape Web is a Digital Marketing and Website Design Agency with a specialization in Painter Marketing at PainterSEO.com.

Ken has several marketing certifications which include: Google Partner, Digital Marketer Certified Partner, Duct Tape Marketing Certified Consultant, and SEO for Growth Consultant. He has written 3 books, all available on Amazon, with his latest book (Sept 2019) becoming an Amazon Bestseller in the Marketing Category - Content Marketing for Local Search: Create Content that Google Loves & Prospects Devour.

Nick Slavik

Nick Slavik Painting and Restoration

Nick is a lifelong resident of New Prague. After graduating from New Prague High School, he joined the Army as a mechanic and a paratrooper. Shortly after the events of September 11th, 2001, Nick volunteered for two tours of duty overseas: the first in Afghanistan & the second in Iraq, during which he met his wife Amy, a Kindergarten teacher.

After settling back in New Prague, he attended college, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business management and with a double minor in tax accounting and managerial accounting. He is the Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5145. He is also a member of the American Legion, the New Prague Area Historical Society, the New Prague Sportsman’s Club & the Economic Development Authority Board of New Prague.

Nick and Amy have four children: Orelia, Milos, Otto, and Alma. They reside in a 1917 Craftsman home which is almost fully restored. Nick has been a craftsman for more than 25 years. His company has been awarded more than 5 National awards for craftsmanship over the last 3 years. He has created a rigorous Apprenticeship program where he finds, trains, inspires and mentors young people in his craft. Nick speaks nationally and internationally on the subjects of entrepreneurship, trades reform, apprenticeship, craftsmanship, and coating science. In 2018 he was made a family member over at This Old House.

Dee Schlotter is the Sr. Color Marketing Manager at PPG Architectural Coatings in North America. She manages the color programs, systems, merchandising, trends, and all print and web collateral for Olympic Paints at Lowe's, PPG Pittsburgh Paints at more than 3,000 independent dealers, Glidden Paints at WalMart, Dulux Paints in Canada, and PPG Paints in commercial, hospitality, and architectural segments. She is the media spokesperson for PPG Pittsburgh Paints Voice of Color brand. She brings with her a background of more than 12 years managing advertising and creative agencies.

Randy is Past-President of the local PCA Council and Chapter, Past-President of the PCA Residential Forum, a PCA Education Center Instructor, and is an EPA Accredited Teacher and Training Manager for the EPA Lead Renovation, Repair, & Paint (RRP) rule. Randy is married to Christine, they have 8 children, 8 grandchildren, and enjoy traveling, classic cars, and serving in any community they’re associated with.

Bob Cusumano is President of Coatings Consultants, Inc. (www.coatingsconsultants.com). His consulting firm analyzes paint failures, writes coating project specifications, and provides expert witness testimony. He teaches classes on blueprint reading, estimating, and management skills to painting contractors and frequently speaks and writes articles regarding coatings failures. Bob is a former painting contractor and a former national PDCA President. He was chairman of the PDCA's Cost and Estimating Committee and the principal author of the PDCA Estimating Guide. His firm currently has a contract with PDCA to manage its standards program and serves as a technical advisor to PDCA and hosts its technical hotline. His education includes a Bachelor of Metallurgical Engineering and a Master of Science Degree in Engineering, specializing in corrosion research, both from the University of Florida.
